On November 11, communities and cemeteries across the United States will honor military veterans in celebration of Veterans Day.
U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day that was observed on November 11, 1919. In 1954, Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day, and it has been known as Veterans Day ever since.
On Veterans Day at Arlington National Cemetery, a color guard made up of members from each of the military services will render honors to America’s war dead in a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Many sites around the country will also host parades, ceremonies, military exhibits, and tributes that will honor America’s heroes.
NAMES IN STONE is proud to honor America’s veterans. We pay tribute to those men and women who have given their lives to protect this great country and the freedom of good people everywhere.
